$300,000 Settlement – Motor Vehicle Accident Involving Drunk Driver

Settlement for a 19-year-old client who was struck by a man who was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The Defendant had a blood alcohol limit of 0.15 at the time of the accident. The Defendant had two prior DUIs, which was a big factor in getting the case settled. Our client was rendered unconscious by the impact and regained consciousness in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. CT scans and an MRI of the brain were normal, but the client had residual cognitive deficits and was determined to have suffered a mild brain injury. The client also suffered from disc injuries to her neck and back, but had not been determined to be a surgical candidate. There were two other persons injured in the accident and the policy limits of the Defendant were divided equally between the three claimants.
