$190,000 Jury Verdict – Motor Vehicle Accident

Jury Verdict for 14-year-old girl who was injured in a motor vehicle accident. She suffered soft tissue injuries but was unable to participate in cheerleading or scuba diving as a result of her injuries. MRIs and EMGs were normal. The doctors testified at trial that the client had suffered only a soft tissue injury, but that the effects were permanent. The case had to be tried before a jury. The Defendant had only offered $15,000.00 before trial. The Plaintiff had filed a Proposal for Settlement for $35,000.00. As a result of the verdict and judgment, the Defendant was also required to pay the Plaintiff’s attorney’s fees and costs. The case was handled by Brian W. Smith of the firm’s West Palm Beach office.
