West Palm Beach Area Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Belle Glade, Authorities Investigate Fatal Crash

Belle Glade, FL (July 19, 2026) – A man was killed one week after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Main Street in Belle Glade, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the pedestrian was walking in the southbound travel lane in the 2200 block of Main Street, which is also designated as State Road 80 and State Road 15, at approximately 11:40 p.m. on July 9.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while traveling along the roadway. Emergency responders provided assistance, but the man later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the vehicle involved, the driver, or what led up to the crash.

The incident comes as South Florida authorities continue investigating several recent fatal vehicle crashes. In another Belle Glade crash, three people were found dead after an overturned pickup truck was discovered submerged in a roadside canal.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said emergency crews responded after a 911 caller reported seeing a vehicle in the canal. The caller did not witness the vehicle entering the water, and investigators have not determined how long it had been submerged.

When firefighters arrived, they found an overturned pickup truck partially submerged in the canal. Dive teams searched the vehicle and surrounding area before emergency personnel confirmed three fatalities.

The identities of the victims have not been released. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding both incidents.
