According to PBSO, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to drift off the roadway before striking a power pole. Investigators said the impact caused the vehicle to rotate violently around the pole.

Authorities confirmed that the front-seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. One passenger was pronounced dead as a result of the collision, while another sustained serious injuries and was transported for medical treatment.
