Palm Beach County Golf Cart Accident Leaves 73-Year-Old Passenger Dead After Four-Day Hospitalization

Palm Beach County, FL (June 18, 2026) – A 73-year-old golf cart passenger died days after suffering injuries in a collision involving a passenger vehicle near Greenacres, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO).

Deputies said the crash occurred at approximately 10:29 a.m. on June 10 at the intersection of South Military Trail and Canal Drive, near Hidden Oaks K-8 School. The collision involved a golf cart and car.

According to investigators, the Toyota Camry, driven by a 60-year-old local resident, was traveling eastbound on Canal Drive and attempting to make a left turn onto North Military Trail. At the same time, a golf cart driven by a 49-year-old woman was crossing Military Trail to continue westbound on Canal Drive.

Authorities said both vehicles entered the Military Trail median, where the Camry struck the front driver’s side of the golf cart. The impact ejected 73-year-old passenger  from the golf cart.

Man, who lived nearby, was transported by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to Delray Medical Center along with the golf cart driver and the Camry driver. Officials said the golf cart driver suffered minor injuries, while the driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.

PBSO reported that man succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:45 a.m. on June 14, four days after the crash.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, and authorities have not announced whether any charges or citations are expected.
