Micco, FL (April 13, 2026) – A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck claimed the life of a 54-year-old man Sunday in Micco, according to authorities.

Officials reported that the collision occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and Chamberlan Terrace. The motorcyclist was traveling southbound in the inside lane on a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle when a pickup truck attempted to enter the highway.

Investigators say an 83-year-old man driving a Ford F-150 attempted to turn left onto U.S. Highway 1 from Chamberlan Terrace and entered the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

The impact involved the front of the motorcycle and the left front of the pickup truck. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and remained at the scene following the crash.

Emergency responders arrived to assist and secure the area.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details.

5 Steps to Take After Being Injured in a Crash in Florida

The first steps after being injured in a Florida car accident include seeking medical attention, documenting the scene, reporting the crash, keeping records, and reviewing insurance options. These actions can help protect your health and create important documentation connected to the accident.

Medical care should be the top priority after any crash, especially in serious collisions involving motorcycles and larger vehicles. A healthcare provider can assess injuries that may not be immediately visible, including head trauma, internal injuries, or other impact-related conditions. Medical records created during treatment help link injuries directly to the crash.

Documenting the crash scene can also be helpful when possible. Taking photos of vehicle damage, roadway conditions, and the point of impact can provide important context, particularly in intersection crashes where one vehicle enters the path of another. Gathering witness information and maintaining copies of medical records may support future insurance claims.

Reporting the crash and keeping organized records are also essential steps. Police reports and official findings help establish how the collision occurred, especially in cases involving turning vehicles or right-of-way issues. Keeping copies of medical bills, treatment notes, and insurance communications can help track recovery and related expenses.

Legal questions may arise after a serious crash. A car accident lawyer can review crash reports, medical records, and insurance policies to explain available options and determine whether compensation may be possible based on the circumstances.
